Dr. Elizabeth Kerner, MD – American Board of Plastic Surgery Certified
Dr. Elizabeth Kerner was raised in the Dallas area and is a graduate of Richardson High School. Following her Cum Laude graduation from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, she attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Kerner completed her general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Affiliated Hospitals in Nashville. She completed her plastic surgery residency at Wayne State University Medical Center in Detroit and entered private practice in the Dallas area in 1987.
An enormously skilled and experienced surgeon, Dr. Kerner focuses mainly on breast surgery including breast augmentation surgery and breast lift surgery as well as facial surgery, and liposuction. Dr. Kerner was recently awarded the prestigious ‘Preferred Surgeon’ distinction by Ideal Implant.

American Board certification is a two-stage examination by which a plastic surgeon proves that he/she has an extended level of skills, training and expertise in the various areas of plastic surgery. In 1992, Dr. Kerner was awarded her Board Certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Medical Association. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society and is an active member of The Aesthetic Society. Dr. Kerner served as President for the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons and also served as President of the Medical Staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
Dr. Kerner wins many awards and was repeatedly voted Best Plastic Surgeon in the Scripps Community Newspaper’s Readers’ Choice for Collin County. She has received numerous Patients’ Choice Awards including the Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award in 2014. She has also been recognized with the Compassionate Doctor Recognition and the On-Time Doctor Award, and a Top 10 Plano Doctor Award. Dr. Kerner was named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas and Best Doctors in Collin County.
Dr. Kerner’s husband, Steve, is an intellectual properties attorney for a global telecommunications, information technology, and consumer electronics company. They have two sons, Alex, who is a teacher in Oregon, and Christian, who is a global finance attorney in Chicago. Dr. Kerner enjoys cooking, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, gardening, and spin classes and is very active in her church and community.

Jennifer Castro
Office Manager, CMM
Jennifer has over 30 years in healthcare administration and has been Dr. Elizabeth Kerner’s Office Manager since 1991. She is a native Virginian but grew up in Plano, Texas. Jennifer studied at Dallas Baptist University and later received the designation of Certified Medical Office Manager. She is a past executive board member with the American Society of Plastic Surgery Professionals and was a past president of Presbyterian Plano Office Managers Association. She is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Plano, a community leadership development program through the Plano Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her duties with Dr. Kerner, Jennifer and her husband, Les, are very active in their church and also lead Faithful Friend Ministry, a juvenile prison ministry using their Schutzhund-bred and trained German shepherd, and Faithful Friend Mission K9, an entity placing service dogs with wounded combat veterans and those veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Christina Hanifan
Front Office Coordinator
Christina joined Dr. Kerner’s staff in July 2019. She brought with her exceptional skills, a warm and welcoming smile, and great ideas to help us get and stay organized. Hers is the cheerful voice you’ll most often hear answering our phones. She coordinates the office appointment schedule, manages our specials, and handles Allergan’s Allē and Galderma’s Aspire reward programs.
Christina’s husband, Jason, is a Marine Corps veteran and works in the home automation and technology industry. Together they have five daughters who keep them busy outside the office. She is active in PTA and band boosters for her girls’ schools.

Marcie Rumph
RN, Office Nurse
Marcie came on board in March 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was beginning. She succeeded Sally Melman, RN after Sally’s retirement. Marcie studied nursing at Texas Women’s University in Denton, and has surgical office experience in addition to having served as a school nurse for several years. She shares clinical office duties with Belinda along with maintaining the surgery schedule and patient teaching and education.
Marcie’s husband, Brian, is an executive in the freight forwarding logistics industry. They have one son and one daughter. Marcie enjoys time with her family and spending many weekends watching her daughter play softball.

Belinda Hobaugh
RN, Office Nurse
Belinda joined our team in July 2020, succeeding Belinda Downing, RN after the latter’s retirement. She brings many years of plastic surgery experience to our team, having worked in the operating room, recovery room, and in the office setting. Along with Marcie, Belinda manages the surgery schedule, patient teaching and education, and assists Dr. Kerner with clinical care in the office.
Belinda’s husband, Kevin, is a VP for a multinational investment banking and financial services corporation working as a senior storage engineer. Together they have two adult children, daughter Alyssa who is an RN in the NICU setting at a local hospital, and son Kyle, who is an assistant escrow officer. Belinda enjoys cooking and working out in her spare time.

Belinda Downing
RN, CPSN, CoolSculpting® Coordinator
Although Belinda officially retired from full time work in June 2020, she is still part of our team. She conducts our CoolSculpting consultations and performs the treatments. She attended CoolSculpting University, the manufacturer’s intensive training program. She is experienced in treatment protocols and use of the equipment. Belinda has over 40 years of nursing experience, more than 25 of those in plastic surgery. She earned her Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse designation.
Belinda’s husband, Dave, is a retired anesthesiologist, and together they have five children and four grandchildren. She enjoys knitting and riding her bike.
