Dr. Elizabeth Kerner, MD – American Board of Plastic Surgery Certified
Dr. Elizabeth Kerner was raised in the Dallas area and is a graduate of Richardson High School. Following her Cum Laude graduation from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, she attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Kerner completed her general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Affiliated Hospitals in Nashville. She completed her plastic surgery residency at Wayne State University Medical Center in Detroit and entered private practice in the Dallas area in 1987.
An enormously skilled and experienced surgeon, Dr. Kerner focuses mainly on breast surgery including breast augmentation surgery and breast lift surgery as well as facial surgery, and liposuction.

American Board certification is a two-stage examination by which a plastic surgeon proves that he/she has an extended level of skills, training and expertise in the various areas of plastic surgery. In 1992, Dr. Kerner was awarded her Board Certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Medical Association. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society and is an active member of The Aesthetic Society. Dr. Kerner served as President for the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons and also served as President of the Medical Staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
Dr. Kerner wins many awards and was repeatedly voted Best Plastic Surgeon in the Scripps Community Newspaper’s Readers’ Choice for Collin County. She has received numerous Patients’ Choice Awards including the Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award in 2014. She has also been recognized with the Compassionate Doctor Recognition and the On-Time Doctor Award, and a Top 10 Plano Doctor Award. Dr. Kerner was named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas and Best Doctors in Collin County.
Dr. Kerner’s husband, Steve, is an intellectual properties attorney in the telecommunications and consumer electronics industry.
They have two married sons who both live in Chicago. Alex is a teacher and is currently working on his master’s degree. His wife, Alison, is completing her residency to become an emergency room physician. Christian is a global finance attorney. His wife, Andrea, is working on her graduate degree at Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
In her free time, Dr. Kerner is active in her church, enjoys cooking, crossword puzzles, reading, and gardening.

Dr. Chris Stewart, MD
Dr. is a plastic surgeon and hand surgeon based in Dallas, Texas. A native of Dallas, Dr. Stewart graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson. His academic journey began at Texas A&M University, where he completed his undergraduate studies, receiving a degree in finance.
He then pursued his medical degree at the University of Texas at Houston. There, his dedication and passion for surgery led him to the prestigious plastic surgery program at Emory University in Atlanta, one of the top programs in the nation. During his residency, Dr. Stewart received several accolades, including the Academic Achievement Award, the Resident Teaching Award, and the honor of being selected as the Administrative Chief Resident for his final year.
Following his residency, Dr. Stewart specialized further by completing a combined orthopedic hand and microsurgery surgery fellowship at UCLA. This advanced training allows him to address a wide range of hand and wrist problems, from thumb and finger arthritis, to nerve compression syndromes, to hand, wrist and forearm fractures.

Dr. Stewart is also an active contributor to the medical community. He has published numerous peer reviewed scientific articles, authored book chapters, and delivered lectures and presentations at state, regional, and national plastic surgery and hand surgery meetings.
In his plastic surgery practice, Dr. Stewart performs both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. He has a special interest in rhinoplasty, facelift, breast augmentation, and breast reconstruction. His comprehensive training and meticulous surgical approach enable him to deliver exceptional care and results to his patients.
Dr. Stewart is married to Dana, who is a nurse practitioner. They are the proud new parents of a daughter, Margot Lane. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Stewart is an avid runner and cyclist who enjoys anything outdoors. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family and is active in his church community.

Jennifer Castro
Office Manager, CMM
Jennifer has over 35 years in healthcare administration and has been Dr. Kerner’s Office Manager since 1991. She grew up in Plano and studied at Dallas Baptist University. She received the designation of Certified Medical Office Manager. She was a past executive board member with the American Society of Plastic Surgery Administrators and was a past president
of Presbyterian Plano Office Managers Association. She is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Plano through the Plano Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her duties with Dr. Kerner, Jennifer and her husband, Les, are very active in their church and lead Faithful Friend Ministry, a juvenile prison ministry using their Schutzhund-bred and trained German shepherds, and Faithful Friend Mission K9, an entity placing service dogs with wounded combat veterans and those veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Christina Hanifan
Front Office Coordinator
Christina joined Dr. Kerner’s staff in July 2019. She brought with her exceptional skills, a warm and welcoming smile, and great ideas to help us get and stay more organized. Hers is the cheerful voice you’ll most often hear answering our phones. She coordinates the office
appointment schedule, manages our product specials, and handles Allergan’s Allē® and Galderma’s Aspire® reward programs.
Christina enjoys spending time with her daughters and is active in her community. She enjoys baking, crocheting, and the outdoors.

Marcie Rumph
RN, Office Nurse
Marcie came on board in March 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was beginning. Marcie studied nursing at Texas Women’s University in Denton, and has surgical office experience in addition to having served as a school nurse for several years. She shares clinical office duties with Heather along with managing the surgery schedule and patient teaching and education.
Marcie’s husband, Brian, is an executive in the freight forwarding logistics industry. They have two children, Carter and Emma. Marcie enjoys time with her family and spends many weekends watching her daughter play softball.

Heather Silva
Certified Medical Assistant
Heather joined the Kerner team in 2023. She is a certified medical assistant with experience in plastic surgery as well as other specialties. She shares clinical office duties with Marcie, helping to schedule surgeries and provide patient education and postoperative care.
Heather’s husband, Reyes, is an operations manager for a large commercial construction company. Together they have three children, Kaitlyn, Dylan, and Addyson. Outside of work,
Heather enjoys spending her weekends on the lake with her family, going to sporting events,
and traveling.

Belinda Downing
RN, CPSN, CoolSculpting® Coordinator
Although Belinda officially retired from full time work in June 2020, she is still part of our team. She conducts our CoolSculpting consultations and performs the treatments. She attended CoolSculpting University, the manufacturer’s intensive training program. She is experienced in treatment protocols and use of the equipment. Belinda has over 40 years of nursing experience, more than 25 of those in plastic surgery. She earned her Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse designation.Â
Belinda’s husband, Dave, is a retired anesthesiologist, and together they have five children and four grandchildren. She enjoys knitting and riding her bike.
