Some ruptures are “silent”, undetectable by simple breast self-exam or exam by a patient.
The FDA recommends women with silicone breast implants have a high-resolution ultrasound or MRI to screen for “silent rupture” within 5 – 6 years after breast augmentation surgery, and then every 2 – 3 years thereafter.

ONE DAY ONLY: Monday, May 22, 2023
Implant Checkup LLC will be in Dr. Kerner’s office to perform High Resolution Ultrasound exams on patients with silicone breast implants.
The cost during this event is only $399 per patient, much less than the fee for an MRI.
The High Resolution Ultrasound scan takes just 15 – 20 minutes and is painless.
Your scan images will be sent to a board-certified radiologist who will examine the outer shell of your implants for tears or ruptures, and to determine if silicone gel is present outside the implants.
You’ll receive the report via email in about 10 days, and you may take that report to a plastic surgeon if any abnormalities are seen.
